There was a loop hole in Windows 2000 that Teradata was mistakenly using. Microsoft concluded this loop hole was actually a BUG
not a FEATURE and fixed it in XP. Therefore we had to correct our Teradata code which was relying on this loophole.
Microsoft then BACK ported the FIX into Windows service pack 3.
The Patch isn't really isn't for XP it is to make our code compatabile with this Bug fix which since it is now both in Service pack 3 and
XP requires the patch for both releases.
Also if you want you can install the patch while still running service pack 2 since the New code works correctly on all platforms because
it doesn't use the loophole. That way you don't have to worry about upgrading.
