The Messages manual says:

235 EM_GSSINITFAIL Call to GSS_INIT failed.

Explanation: CLIv2 will return this error if MTDP received an error return from a GSS_INIT call.

It says you should call the GSC, but first I would check to make sure that GSS is installed properly.
