Celia,

You are correct about the STARTUP option, as we ran into the same issue. What we have is a script that generates a "revoke logon on all from "user";" for all users that have not logged in the past 60 days and also put that id in a table to keep track of. Then if we have a user that is revoked and has not logged on for 90 days (30 more days since revoked) then we delete them from the system. We actually run this process once a month. Hope this helps! Have to love Sarbanes-Oxley!
