Regarding the R12 ML-PPI issue:

For a PPI join index whose partition field is casted twice, one of the cast is to CHAR type, query ends up with 3706:SyntaxErrors if it refers the JI in any way. Problem Solution/Prevention : Major 13.0

This problem is covered by DR 120896, which is resolved in release 13.0.
