Perhaps you could be more specific than "in another way". Did you have a particular way in mind? What is wrong with finding out the details from Pmon and "session information" (do you mean dbc.sessioninfo?).

Here are some possibilities:

     Help session;

     Select *
     >From dbc.sessioninfo
     Where sessionno = session;
