Subj:   Loading a numeric with format like ZZZ.ZZZ.ZZZ,ZZ

From:   Cappelli, Andrea

Hi all,

Does anyone know how load a numeric field with the format 'zzz.zzz.zzz,zz' into a table using a FASTLOAD or MULTILOAD?

The problems are:

1) the . is not a group separator on the Teradata system, but a decimal separator

2) the , is not the decimal separator on the teradata system, but a group separator

3) I receive the file with the field format in this way, and I'm trying to find a way to load the data in this format, without ask to change the extraction job

4) I don't have any ETL product to manipulate the field

I know that is possible change some parameter on the system to assign the , as the decimal separator and the . as the group separator, but I would like avoid it.

Casting the field in the insert fastload statement, seems not work.

Any help?????

Thanks
