You need to set up your hosts like this:

     127.0.0.1    abc     abccop1

When connecting logging on with bteq use

     .logon abc/userid

Alternatively you can use dbc in your hosts file which is the default

e.g.

     127.0.0.1    dbc     dbccop1

Then your bteq logon can be:

     .logon userid
