Amol,
Most backup solution has a catalog of sort that will help you quickly index the table in the tape. If you move the catalog from the system you
back up from to the system you want to restore/copy to then the system will scan through the tape very quickly and locate exactly where it should
be.
It is $NETVAULT_CATALOG.CATALOG in netvault. I am not sure where would it be in NETBACKUP or TSM. Consult your backup group and get that
information will help you greatly in this situation.
