Locks and Concurrency
When you perform a COLLECT STATISTICS statement, an ACCESS lock is placed on the table from which the demographic data is being collected. In
general, COLLECT STATISTICS statements can run concurrently with DML statements, other COLLECT STATISTICS statements, DROP STATISTICS statements,
and HELP STATISTICS statements against the same table.
