In the table x.y, records are inserted on continous basis(24/7) by a process whenever the data is available in the source permanent table.

we want to schedule the refresh statistics of the table x.y from unix cron.

Could you please clarify

1. will there be locking contention on x.y during refresh?

2. Hope collect stats utilises access lock. Can insertions happen during stats refresh?
