Hi,

I had an existing table with records in it. Now i need to change the data type of a column from date to timestamp.

I tried giving alter table command (add). But it's not working...

So i added a column at the end of the table with datatype Timestamp.

Now i tried copying the values from Prev column (date type) to the new column ,its not accepting and throwing the error "Invalid operation on Ansi datetime or Interval value "...

Please let me know how I can change the datatype without dropping the table...
