Thank you for your quick response,

only I am using the odbc connection as you stated (which works fine in other circumstances) below only for some unknown reason I am getting the following error message:

Reserved error (-7722); there is no message for this error.

We have recently upgraded from Access 97 to 2003 and on Access 97 it works fine.
