Keenly observing your discussions. We are having a problem similar to the one which Victor pointed out. We use Thai characters extensively. In thai, we dont have a concept of upper and lower case letters at all.

The comparision result between '?' and '?' (different letters) is equal when the characterset is Unicode the column is casesensitive. In contrast, they will be unequal if the column is casesensitive. Request you to point out why is the difference in the results and what should we do with our implementation

I am not sure I understand the question. Probably partially because the "different letters" you used in the posting reached me as two question marks. They might have been lost in the posting process somewhere although we had postings in the past with Chinese characters which survived the process end-to-end.

If I had to have a guess I'd point out importance of collation you are using. It could be that with Thai characters you have to be very specific with the choice of collation.

If possible, try to post at least Unicode values of the range of characters you are interested in so that more Forum members could set up examples and have a look at them. This might shed more light.

Regards,

Victor
