With 'query running slow on Teradata database'/'overall database running slow', what are the potential areas needed to be checked other than lock contentions?

At this moment no locks are present, no hut lock present, no blocked sessions, database is not been hilted by huge loads, no huge number of users, no entry on crashdump etc. Still simple select statements, grants-granting running slow.
