We use JDBC from our webservers to read data from Teradata and display the results back to the endusers web display. We have had one million hits in one day with average response time of .01 seconds. We have not found a maximum threshold yet.

We also have a JDBC webservice that performs updates on Teradata after calling a service that gets data from Oracle. This does not send anything to Webservice, however, it could easily do it. We don't have concrete thresholds yet, but right now the weak link is the Web service hitting oracle.
