I see the wording in my last post could be confusing. What I meant was:

Based on the error code, I suspect your SQL statement currently has a column name in a place where MLOAD requires either a field reference (with the : prefix) or literal (in quotes).

(I certainly didn't mean to imply it was mandatory to code improper syntax!)
