This is certainly possible, but we need to see the entire script in order to know how to fix it. Meanwhile, here is one possible approach using ksh:

     #!/usr/bin/ksh

     export TDLOGON='gmdwdev/sysdba,xxxx'
     export TABLE='DBC.Tables'
