There is an option in TDM that specifies whether the app should display a logon dialog on startup. (Different versions do this in different ways)

If you are not displaying the logon dialog at startup and the password is invalid you will need to force it to display this dialog by changing the registry.

The registry key would be something like (version dependent):

     HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\NCR\TeradataManager\07.00.00.00\Preferences\tdclient

Then change the value of 'ShowLogonDlg' to a value of 1.
