FYI,

You can also have DNS entries that look the same as Chris's host entries below. Normally the default TDPID is DBC if you do not specify one in your logon statement. The default can be set in configuration files on each client server. Refer to the connection configuration manuals (ODBC, CLI, JDBC, etc) for specific files names.
