The Orange Book, "Facilities and Techniques for Event Processing", shows two examples of table function UDFs that use CLI to query another
Teradata system. These queries are then wrapped into a view that unions the results enabling a simple query to for example see space/dictionary
information from multiple systems.
This is custom code building on Teradata's extensibility mechanisms as opposed to built in capability.
