Subj:   Re: Arcmain restart option

From:   Dodgson, Mark

Although there may be (rare) exceptions, on the whole, I think we should say that Teradata is pretty successful at restarting an aborted ARCMAIN operation. The DBCLOG file is the key - so long as the job when initiated in restart mode uses the same DBCLOG file as the failing operation, then you should be able to pick-up from point of failure. Note, that in the restart you'll not be able to overide the initial parameters that were passed to ARCMAIN when the job failed - in the restart, sessions and so on are taken from DBCLOG.

Cheers,

Mark
