Chris was on the right track on this one. Sorry, I haven't had time to send an update before now.
Turns out, there was an identically named view in another database. That view was attempting to access a database without the appropriate
grant with grant option in place. The java process, attempting to pull meta data about the view and underlying tables exposed the problem. As
soon as the bad view in the other database was fixed, the java process ran successfully.
We are looking into a method of restricting the databases the java process looks at.
