Subj:   Re: MLOAD of a file with multiple record types

From:   Naresh_Kumar

Hi Madhukar,

Here is what Multiload reference manual says about VARTEXT Records:-

Input Record Requirements
-------------------------

The total number of fields in each input record must be equal to or greater than the number of fields described in the MultiLoad layout FIELD and FILLER commands.

If it is less, the MultiLoad utility generates an error message. If it is more, the Teradata Database ignores the extra fields.

The last field of a record does not have to end with a delimiter character. It can end with a delimiter character, but it is not required.

Solution:-

Put extra "delimiter" ('|') to complete the number of fields required for layout.

     id|a|b|c|d
     id|a|b||

Regards,

Naresh
