I think 80 is an optimal value that might have been worked out keeping in mind the resource(CPU,I/O,memory) contention. Increasing may though help in handling complex queries, when there all-amps involved or redistributions involved on the other hand it would surely cause a contention for the CPU and an increase in the memory requirement for each AWT.
