I seem to remember this same kind of problem when we filled up a version number in the DBC on a previous job - I don't have access to DBC on this job so I can't tell you exactly what the column was. But the version data type was smallint and we filled it up... I worked in an "active" warehouse and we dropped a couple of indices to load this table a couple of times an hour. Every time we perfomed this action it incremented the version - we told Todd W about it but he said there wasn't anything he could do about it...
