You can FastExport directly to an Excel spreadsheet (as well as a plethora of other formats) using the Teradata OLE DB Access Module.

The Teradata OLE DB Access Module is included on the Teradata Tool and Utilities Load/Unload CD. If you pursue this route, you don't even need
to have to compose the FastExport script as the product includes a tool that does that for you (of course you are free to modify the generated
script or even use your own if you prefer).
