if your volume is small run the query in QueryMan or SQLAssistant and save the answer set as Excel the quiet easier way..

if you are talking about a huge file (remember you can not load files with more than 60000 rows in Excel) then use Fast Export... But all practical purposes using Queryman to save the answer set to excel file is the least cumbersome.
