Hard to say whether it is an entirely different issue. Their logic might be: derived tables are unpredictable, so we have to build our
own solution. As they cannot do much about the back- and front end, the only place to build a new solution would be in the middle tier. As the
Vendor is missing in this discussion we can only guess what their position is.
