Subj:   Re: COGNOS Impromptu Scheduler

From:   David R. Stoolman

It seams a lot of complaining has surfaced on this issue.

As I remember, we had some issues as descibed in the DBC 1012 days, but somewhere in the rollout of the NCR 3600 technology the "LOCK FOR ACCESS" when using views seams to have solved all of these issues.

At our shop, the "LOCK FOR ACCESS" must be handling these issues, because I do not believe we have any of the issues as descibed and we have many query tools including COGNOS. And we have some people that use COGNOS and favor it over at least 5 or 6 other tools available to them! Bu then, we have some people who quite favor their query tool over COGNOS.

We are one of those, any query, anytime, by any user type shops, (As coined from SBC's Partners 2003 presentation).
