Subj:   JDBC Gateway Connection Problem

From:   Sheeba

Hi,

Im new to Teradata JDBC.I installed jdbc driver for teradata on my m/c.The gateway server interface is allowing to specify a port number and also gets started on that port. But when the program is trying to connect it says "java.sql.SQLException: [NCR][Teradata JDBC Driver]:Unable to connect to the JDBC gateway (Hostname or port incorrect, or the gateway is not started)".

In the url i give "jdbc:teradata://[my m/c ipaddress]:6000/dbs".Is this correct?

Are there any configurations to be done for the port and gateway?

when i use a type 4 url(no gateway and port specified) there is no problem in connecting to the database. But i need to use type 3 only.

Could someone pls help.

Thanks & regards,

Sheeba
