Parser driver task or pardrivr, is the working unit for the Parser in the PE. There are generally 14 pardrivrs in a PE vproc. When you submit an SQL, the pardrivr takes it up in the PE, checks its syntax, resolves and optimizes the SQL. Pardrivr is the task which makes the plan you see in an Explain. The disworkt, is the dispatcher working unit. The dispatcher worker task is session bound. It takes the steps from parser and dispatches the steps to AMPs. The disworkt also coordinates sending of the response parcel back to client. There are 63 disworkts per PE. In V2R5 the pardrivr and disworkt have been combined into a single sqldrivr task.
