We use Adobe Acrobat to view the manuals provided by Teradata. A quick entry of EXPLAIN in the global search function brings up Visual Explain to the top of our list. Looking in the Visual Explain manual (thinking that this at least should provide an explanation of the EXPLAIN terms)shows that the Appendix lists Explain Modifier and there it's terms are explained very well. This works for both the v2r4 and v2r5 documenation sets.
