Subj:   Re: What is Skew factor?

From:   David Wellman

Hi,

Skew factor (SF) is the 'reverse' of Parallel Efficiency (PE) (i.e. 100 - PE). So if PE=100% then SF=0, if PE=90 then SF=10.

Whether it is Multiload or most processing within a Teradata system, if you have a skewed table then processing will be slowed down. In your case, SF=0 means that the table is perfectly evenly distributed.

Cheers,

Dave
