Srini, Volatile tables also work inside your spool space, so you could run into some problems there too. I hope your place will
allow you the ability to use the Global Temp Table area, some places aren't so generous. Being able to tune up performance with
things like Collect Stats on a global table can give help give you that faster performance your going after with Volatile tables.
Also, a combination of indexes that minimizes AMP activity overall is a combination of NUPI and USI.
