What I normally do is run a 'HELP TABLE MYdb.MyTable' first, and then copying and pasting only the columns I need. 'HELP TABLE..' provides a 'clean list' of attributes, without the Column definitions, as you would normally find by doing a SHOW TABLE.

There must be better ways of doing this (selecting from DBC.COLUMNS etc..?), but this normally works OK for my purposes.
