We loaded Teradata on W2K and were playing around with utilities. i.e. it is test environment.

We got around vprocmanager. Our test system has 2 AMPS, one PE and Gateway Process (real basic). We used vprocmanager to set the AMP to offline or FATAL (don't remember). Then we restarted the database using vprocmanager - i.e. after setting it to offline or fatal.

Now we are stuck. PDE is up and running. DBS will not come up... Looks like somewhere there is a flag that needs to be cleared up...

When we get to vprocmanager, it shows both AMPS in fatal state - but config status as ONLINE. Crash count is set to 3. We are able to set VPROC state to ONLINE and attempted to restart dbs - but dbs will not come up. Cannot use boot from VPROCManager either..

Any suggestions ..
