What you should do is have entries in DNS or hosts for each of your nodes of the teradata name with cop1, cop2, cop3, etc appended to them.

eg
111.222.333.1 teramed4cop1
111.222.333.2 teramed4cop2

The utilities will send new jobs to the node with the fewest current requests, and so share the load across all the nodes, rather than just connecting to just the one.
