Clay,

I've had some small success with JOIN INDEXes. I tried a few HASH INDEXes to avoid some large table redistributions, but I couldn't get the optimizer to use them. So I went to a single table JOIN INDEX and was able to avoid redistribution on the mid-size table in the join. Given enough time, I'll get there.

For Crystal Enterprise, we are ending up writing our own front-end (JSP). Are you using the native Crystal front-end?
