I'm kinda shooting in the dark here, but I believe that if you set the field dbcarea.dbcarea-conformance (or, in Assembler,
DBCNILCS) to 'N' before calling DBCHCL, you should be able to avoid this error. See Teradata CLIv2 for Channel-Attached Systems,
chapter 3, under "Language Conformance".
