When I use the extract function in a view:

(e.g. EXTRACT(DAY FROM mydate))

the parser rewrites the expression as:

(EXTRACT (DAY FROM (mydate (DATE)))(TITLE 'DayOfMonth'))

and in the process it also strips all the non-display characters out of the view def (line feeds etc...) so when I do a show view the view is very ugly.

Also I've learned not to use extracts repeatedly in case expressions etc.. because it can really expand the size of the view.

Anyone know how to turn this feature off?
