I'd be interested too if you'd share what you learn. I'm curious why you ask? Some customer/prospect interested in doing
something with Teradata?
You may find this interesting. SBC is doing a high availability application where the data is housed on a 2 node Teradata system,
updated periodically (no issues there). The Apps are E.piphany on a bunch of Web Servers. They use the CISCO CSS (from the
Arrowpoint acquisition, F5 competitor). It does health checks of Teradata via TCP/IP connect to port 1025. If they detect that the
system is dead, they reroute the traffic to the big system.
Also, as you may know, we've been doing some prototype work on Active Active for High Availability including a Query Director that
does load balance, health check, and content based routing.
