Iceland Foods which is where i work holds the majority of data loaded onto the Data Warehouse on AS/400's We do not use an etl tool but use RPG which is AS/400 programming language to extract and transform the operational data. Beware of internal AS/400 data formats (Dates and Packed Decimals) and signed numerics. This data is then ftp'd to a unix machine which is our staging server. This data is then loaded onto the Data Warehouse using the traditional fastload/multiload etc.
