We have recently upgraded to V2R4.1.1 and PMON version 5.0.1. There are some nice new features in PMON such as viewing SQL and
even an EXPLAIN report.
The skewing figures seem a bit odd though. The maximum skew appears to be limited to 98%. It is no longer calculated as the
largest deviation from the average, like table skewing. It appears to be derived from the 3 highest and 3 lowest values compared to
the average, which really doesn't paint the true picture as it's the single extreme value that determines the true skew extent.
Also, we were hoping that the combination of V2R4.1.1 and PMON 5.0.1 would give more insight into the CPU and IO usage by AMP for
a single session. Double-clicking on 'CPU Skew' or 'Disk Skew' in the 'User Info' screen appears to generate the same graph no
matter which session is selected. This would suggest that the figures being graphed are totals for the AMP and not specific to the
session, which would be very useful indeed.
