Subj:   Re: TDQM and Limits of CPU

From:   Al Lee

Thanks to All on the reply of TDQM and limit of CPU.

Main requirement was how to contol (manage) queries to Teradata as we move into an environment where we are allowing end users to issue Adhoc request via Mircostrategy as the front end tool.

Users can now issue very small fast queries, then same user can issue very long running (somethimes run away) queries.

What is best method to manage this. We use PSF today with limited success. As NCR mentions PSF is more art then science. We were hoping TDQM would be more science then art (or perhaps more fact then fiction.)

Sounds like PSF is stil the way to go. After reviewing replies and also TDQM documentation, is there any value to TDQM?

Al
