| Subj: | | Microstrategy and Teradata Element Caching |
| |
| From: | | Yonina Schuchman |
We use Microstrategy as our user interface to Teradata and up till now have been passing the individual's logon id to Teradata.
With 300 users, the Intelligent server frequently runs our of memory because it needs to build separate caches for each user. Also,
element browsing takes a long time if long running queries are hogging resources in Teradata. Microstrategy currently has no way to
pass a separate resource partition account code for element browsing versus report running.
We are rethinking our strategy and have decided to create group logon ids for different departments and projects, so users in the
same group can share the element cache. To facilitate element browsing, we would like to prebuild the element cache each morning
before the users log on to the system.
Has anyone written anything or know of a tool to get this done?
Thank you.
