Subj:   Question about Teradata JDBC connectivity

From:   Kimico C. Myers

Hello all,

I'm attempting to connect to a Teradata db using JDBC and have been thus far unable too. I've been trying to execute some sample Java code but get the following error message:

*** SQLException caught ***

SQLState: 08001
Message: [NCR][Teradata CLIv2] : Failed while retrieving default transaction mode
Vendor: 224

I've updated my hosts file with the necessary info and have verified my connection and username/password information is correct but I continue to get this error. Does anyone have any suggestions/ideas?

Also, has anyone on the list ever create a Teradata datasource from within either Websphere Application Server or Websphere Studio Application Developer?

Thank you.
