I used a similar approach of only using Informatica to apply the transformation business rules to source data at two different client accounts. This provided the client with Metadata and the MX2 bridge to disseminate the Metadata to reporting tools.

In both cases, we opted to load Teradata staging tables with FastLoad. We applied the data in the staging tables to the core data warehouse database using SQL in BTEQ scripts. We found that the more data work that we did on the Teradata database, the shorter the batch cycle times.
