I have a situation where a support representative has told one of the technical staff that the transient journal is used when inserting into an empty table (conditions are large number of PI duplicates is causing a hot amp). My recollection is that the Transient Journal is not used when an insert is applied to an empty table.

Are there any instances where use of the TJ with an empty table would be true? Potential candidates are ANSI semantics and BT/ET.

Just trying to do some due diligence...
