Subj:   Re: Rule of Thumb for Sessions during ARCMAIN dumps & restores

From:   Kyle Prescott

Shelly,

We usually run about 3 sessions per amp (CLUSTER ARCHIVE AND RESTORE) on a restore for a 24-amp system to be optimal. I talked with the ARC guys at partners. They said after about 30-50 sessions, performance may begin to recieve deminishing returns. ARCMAIN won't let you do more than 1 per AMP on an ALL-AMP archive anyway. So 2 sessions per amp on a 12-amp system (restore/copy) could probably be pushed to 3. That would give you 36 sessions which fell within their recomended range.

Regards,

Kyle
