The biggest reason we chose to look at PScheduler was for exactly the reasons you are stating in your note....we added a second
"less seasoned" application onto a box with a more seasoned application and they did not play well together. Then came all the
politics of who should get what share of the resources......... By using the PScheduler you can allocate resources by application or
other logical division, such as batch vs. online users, and give each division a piece of the box to play with and play within. We
have found CRON to be helpful in changing priorities at different times of the day.
Take the Pscheduler one step at a time.....there are some good white papers by Carrie Ballenger (sp ?) that your NCR Reps should
be able to get their hands on......
